Although i wasn’t born with silver spoon but trust me, my childhood moments weren’t dull 1 bit. Those things my parents wouldn’t buy for us we would go visit our neighbours to enjoy the benefit, after all what are neighbours/friends for?
One of the numerous activities that caught my fancy while growing up, even until now remains playing VIDEO GAMES, i would stand at the windows of game halls in the streets of Port Harcourt, windows of my neighbours and infact to cut the long story short, “I was spell-bound by video games”
Talking about video games, there are a whole lots of video games at the time that were tops when console like SEGA Mega Drive and Micro Genius were mentioned, we used to do catridges, game guns and gamebooks – We studied games like we were gonna get degrees, VERY FUNNY!
Check out my top 10 video games while growing up
1. International Superstar Soccer Deluxe
This game! OH MY! i love this game, i spend sleepless nights trying to win ‘WORLD SERIES’ game mode, i could remember when big bro was teaching me how to play this game so i could replace him while he ran errands.
My favorite team and of course the people’s favorite was Italy – Popular names in this team (The ones i can remember tho) are Carboni, Coliuto, Zappa and goalkeeper Pagani (with his ash coloured shirt and black short).
2. Ultimate Mortal Kombat
If you think you know how to play video games, turn up and let’s see the speed of your thumbs.
With this game we separated the boys from the men, we would cram the skill cods of our favorite character(s) and then unleash them on a weaker opponent and as a matter of fact we had game books to store skill/cheat codes for other characters. Brutality and fatality were the order of the day.
3. WRESTLE MANIA
This is one game that makes me feel alright whenever i’m sick in school and came back home for treatment.
My favorite character was Shawn Michaels, i knew a whole lot of his skills, with him i beat up the ass of my friends.
It was fun while it lasted.
4. SUNSET RIDERS
