KO-Baba, a popular Nigerian comedian has taken to his social media pages to clear the air about this misconception, stating that comedy got better as churches started embracing it.
Read below:
“Some people confused comedy for jesting, and I wonder how and why. Pls move around your street, you will see jesters & not necessarily comedians. Pls when some of us get on stage, we go up with an intent to bless someone, inspire happiness & eliminate heaviness, for me that’s how I see with my job. Some people will ask you what’s a comedian is doing in church. Please we came to inspire happiness & make someone knows the value of a merry heart that doeth good like medicine. Pls if anybody thinks that the talent we have groom into a means of livelihood is of the devil, then you lie. Pray on a good day destiny should bring you to sit under my performance in church. Pls comedy got better when the church embraced it and nothing or nobody can stop that!!!?”
