New single by AoGee titled “Nigeria is Ours”. A song that calls for unity in Nigeria and fight against corruption.
He got his inspiration to do the song while serving with NYSC when he saw the missing ingredient of patriotism fueled by the desire to serve and contribute your own quota to national development, in many of the corpers that were serving with me at that time.
Read what AoGee has to say about the his new single:
“Nigeria is a blessed country; When you spell N-I-G-E-R-I-A, it spells seven letters. Seven speaks of unity in diversity, it speaks of completeness and it speaks of perfection. The rainbow for instance, is a perfect and beautiful combination of seven different colours. Nigeria made up of several ethnic groups and within these ethnic groups are several tribes numbering 371.”
“Take a look at the Nigerian Pledge, you’ll see the first and last words are ‘I’ and ‘God’ respectively: Your service to the nation is essential between you and God. “ Said AoGee
‘These and more formed the basis of my inspiration for this song ‘Nigeria is Ours’
AoGee is an indigene of Edo state, born on the 5th day of March, 1974. He has a passion to impact others, particularly children and teenagers with the gifting and talents that God has endowed me with.
Music to him, is more than just entertaining people, but is also a means of expressing deep messages that inspire people to be better and do better in life.
His stage name, AoGee, is from the acronym, AOG which stands for Arrow of God.
He said “I chose that name because I see myself, in the light of God’s Word, as someone sent by God with a specific mission and assignment to fulfill on the earth. God started showing this to me several years ago, and to make it more interesting, during my NYSC, I was sent to Offa in Kwara state as PPA, place of primary assignment. And I got to know later that the town of Offa was named after a famous hunter, “Oloffagungun”, who was known for shooting arrows”.
